After a series of mysterious play-by-play tweets, Blake Shelton announced he would be playing a surprise show in Kansas City.

The country superstar is known for being quite active on Twitter. He took to his account this morning (7/27) and sent out a rather ambiguous message to all of his followers.

“Hmmmm…. Well.. Let’s play a game y’all. I have the day off and a map of the United States in front of me. Where should I go,” he said, not knowing where he was going with his agenda. One curious fan tweeted back about the possibility of him doing a free show in relation to his tweet about traveling. Shelton came back with the ultimate reply.

“Well I was just thinking of going somewhere but hell I guess I could..,” replied Shelton.

After a few more enigmatic tweets, Shelton finally came out to tell fans exactly what he was thinking. And for some, it’s exactly what they wanted to hear.

“Hey Kansas City.. You!!!!! Tonight! Whiskey Tango Doors at 7:30 PM First Come, First Serve,” he said, giving out the exact details of his spontaneous endeavor.

Fans on Twitter already responded with screenshots of their possible road trip ideas to get to the surprise show. Some even posted memes about not being able to make it in time for the show being held later on tonight.

This isn’t the first time Shelton has pulled something like this either. During CMA Music Festival 2016, Shelton just so happened to wander into the famous downtown Nashville honkytonk, The Stage, and played about an hour-long set of his greatest hits on his acoustic guitar.

Tonight’s show comes between dates on Shelton’s summer tour as he is on the road this season traveling across the country. He is promoting his album, If I’m Honest, at the moment as well as his latest single, “She’s Got a Way with Words,” which can be found on country radio. Check out the fiery track on streaming services and don’t forget to add it to your digital music library.
