2017 is sure to be memorable for Blake Shelton who jumped right back into work with a chart-topping song at the start of the year. The Oklahoma native marked his 23rd No.1 with his hit “A Guy With A Girl” on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart.

“I’ve been in this business long enough to know that a number one single should be celebrated and never taken for granted,” said Shelton in a press release. “I’m just as excited about ‘Guy With A Girl’ going No. 1 as I was ‘Austin.’ The first thing I did when I found out today was call my mom, just like I did with my first and every No. 1. So, as always, thanks to country radio and especially the fans for this.”

The single is the fourth single from Shelton’s gold-certified album If I’m Honest, following “Came Here to Forget,” “Savior’s Shadow” and “She’s Got A Way With Words.” Shelton will expand on If I’m Honest with a performance of “Every Time I Hear That Song” at the People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles tonight, where he is nominated for Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Male Country Artist and Favorite Album.

Shelton will soon embark on his Doing It To Country Songs Tour, which kicks off in Bakersfield, CA on Feb. 16. The hitmaker will take along two of his former The Voice contestants, season 2’s RaeLynn and the most recent champion, Sundance Head.
