We didn’t see this one coming!

Blake Shelton has enlisted actor, singer, and Broadway legend Bette Midler as his team mentor for the 11th season of NBC’s hit show The Voice.

Shelton announced the news on Twitter this afternoon, saying that Midler was “the wind beneath my wings.”

Also joining the show as mentors will be Sammy Hagar, Charlie Puth and Joan Jett, who will partner with coaches Adam Levine, Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus, respectively.

The upcoming season will be Shelton’s eleventh time on the hit show. Cyrus and Keys will be featured as coaches for the first time, although both of them have appeared previously on the show. Cyrus appeared last season when she served as the key adviser, while Keys previously appeared on The Voice as a mentor for Williams’ team during the seventh season of the show.

NBC will kick off the new season with a special half-hour episode of The Voice following the closing ceremonies of the Summer Olympics on Sunday, Aug. 21 at 10:30/9:30c.
