Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson will take the stage at a special concert to honor military members at Chicago’s Soldier Field.

The July 1 concert will be a part of the opening ceremony for the 2017 Department of Defense Warrior games, a Paralympic-style sporting event that will host over 250 seriously wounded, ill, and injured service members. The games will take place June 30-July 8 in Chicago.

“The men and women that serve and protect this country on a daily basis allow the rest of us the freedoms we enjoy,” said Shelton. “I’m proud to be part of this event and root these heroes on to victory at this year’s Warrior Games.”

“These men and women have put their lives on the line for us and have overcome so much in the process of doing that! It will be a tremendous honor to perform for them and their families who have sacrificed so much,” added Clarkson.

The United States Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force and Special Operations Command will be represented in archery, cycling, sitting volleyball, shooting, swimming, wheelchair basketball and track and field competitions. The games will also feature members of the United Kingdom Armed Forced and the Australian Defence Force.

This is not the last time Clarkson and Shelton will team up. You can catch them together again, along with Adam Levine, as coaches on Season 14 of The Voice, beginning in Spring 2018.

Tickets for the concert go on sale to the general public June 6 via Ticketmaster. Pre-sale tickets are available for fan club members and Citi cardmembers can purchase them now. For more information about the 2017 Department of Defense Warrior Games, visit dodwarriorgames.com.
