Blake Shelton always tries to come off as this tough, macho man, but the country singer actually has a soft spot for some sweet little kiddos.

Taking a break from his job as a coach on The Voice, Shelton hung out backstage with Claire Ryann Crosby for a special one-on-one interview. Putting him in the hot seat, the ‘Tiny Musician,’ as she’s known throughout social media, busted out some hard-hitting questions that got Shelton to sweat a bit. It wasn’t until Crosby asked about his ladybug tattoos that the tension started to ease.

Admitting that he sports his ladybugs proudly upon his arm, it looked as though Crosby was a fan of the skin art as well. “What are you talking about? I guess it really is true,” Shelton confirmed as he rolled up his sleeve to show off the masterpiece to a giggling Crosby.

He tried to fire back by asking Crosby if she had any little tats on her, which she revealed she used to have a cupcake one to Shelton’s surprise.

Hoping to bridge the frenemy gap between Shelton and fellow coach Adam Levine, Crosby asked the country star if he could just say something nice about his lowkey rival. Unfortunately, the bad blood between the two caught a hilarious rise out of Shelton, who told Crosby to call Levine a ‘ding-dong’ the next time she saw him.

All fun and games aside, Shelton started off this season of The Voice with a rough patch after the coaches denied him in the premiere episode from snagging up all the country potential. Since then, Shelton thankfully convinced a few contestants that he wanted to mentor them but the struggle is most certainly real this time around.

The Voice airs new episodes on Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
