Blake Shelton was the ‘Cure for Daisy’ when he took the time out to meet his biggest seven-year-old fan at the Bayou Country Superfest over the weekend.

Young Daisy Prescott got the wish of a lifetime granted thanks to Shelton’s team down at Warner Music Nashville after she admitted how big of a little fan she was of the country singer’s music. As a child diagnosed with a rare disease called dermatomyositis that causes irritation to the skin and muscle fatigue due to issues in the connective tissue, Prescott never wanted anything more than to meet her hero in person.

After finally arranging for her to meet Shelton as a backstage guest to his show, she freaked out with excitement over the opportunity. As chronicled by her mother, Prescott calmed her nerves just in time to give Shelton a big ol’ bear hug before laughing over silly jokes.

“He was trying to pronounce dermatomyositis and they were joking about The Voice and about his finger and how he does the finger pointing. She loves that,” Prescott’s mother told Taste of Country.

Shelton and Prescott became fast friends as  they bonded over their love of music before Shelton hit the stage for a fan-filled turnout. Noting her courage and bravery to overcome her disease every day, Prescott stood as the true hero for the night despite getting to meet someone she looks up to regularly.

“Daisy doesn’t ever want anybody to see that she’s weak,” her mother clarified.

With her bubbly personality coming forward like in the rest of her Facebook videos, Prescott thanked the team for their connection to help bring her together with Shelton for just one night.

Prescott, as many other fans, can continue to see Shelton do his thing on the next season of NBC’s The Voice, which will premiere later this year.
