Season 12 of NBC’s The Voice is quickly approaching! In anticipation of the show’s big return, NBC is giving fans a look at the four coaches who are ready to battle it out once again. This season, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Alicia Keys will return following the conclusion of season 11, with Gwen Stefani returning after a brief hiatus from the show.

Entertainment Tonight recently shared a new clip of the coaches talking about their biggest musical inspirations, in addition to clips of them fighting for their favorites during what looks like the season 12 blind auditions.

“My biggest musical influence was probably my brother. Whoever he was listening to, that’s what I listened to. It was so loud,” Shelton shared, referring to his older brother Richie who died at the age of 24 in a tragic car accident. Shelton was just 14 at the time.

Later in the television spot, Shelton’s iconic sense of humor was put on display when he joked with his girlfriend in front of a possible contestant.

“I just did a country song with Blake Shelton,” Stefani says to a contestant she hopes to claim for Team Gwen. “I got the hookup!”

“That is so inappropriate to talk about us hooking up,” Shelton quips.

Season 12 will include some of music’s biggest names as the team mentors. Luke Bryan was previously announced as Shelton’s team advisor, while Celine Dion joins Team Gwen, John Legend joins Team Adam and DJ Khaled joins Team Alicia.

“I enjoy being in the moment with those artists and in my gut feeling, tell them the best thing I can tell them and really lift them up,” Bryan said of his time mentoring the competitors. I think I get lost in the shuffle in the media of the guy who dances on stage. I think people don’t realize that I moved to town, wrote songs and got a record deal. Early in my career, I was so nervous about big moments, I didn’t even enjoy them. I just want to help these people settle into who they are and enjoy the moment.”
