Racing fans will soon hear a familiar voice performing the opening theme for NBC’s NASCAR coverage. Blake Shelton is returning perform the theme for third year in a row. The new opening clip will make its on-air debut on July 1 during the network’s coverage of the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway.

NBC began broadcasting the second half of the NASCAR season in 2015, and they recruited Shelton as the inaugural theme performer. They used his song “Bringing Back the Sunshine,” but then the following year, they reworked the lyrics to fit in with the racing atmosphere.

The lyrics, “Everybody, ready, set, go / Rev it up and let’s roll / There’s a party in the fast lane,” are sure to get NASCAR fans pumped and ready to watch the race.

“We are excited Blake is back this season to kick off our 2017 NASCAR coverage. He resonates well with both the avid NASCAR fan and casual viewer,” said Tripp Dixon VP and Creative Director at NBC Sports Group. “This year’s show open focuses on the drivers that make this sport shine, and highlights moments with them interacting with their families, crews, and fans.”

The montage has been updated since last year, now featuring more than 20 Cup Series drivers, including Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch. The video also includes memorable driver celebrations from the season, as well as a military tribute as members from two Alabama bases meet Earnhardt.

Shelton’s Top 5 single, “Every Time I Hear That Song,” is following in the footsteps of “A Guy With A Girl” and “Came Here To Forget” as it climbs the charts. He spending his summer performing at various festivals as he gears up for the fall season of The Voice.
