Although Blake Shelton is a seasoned pro at playing a killer concert, that doesn’t stop him from participating in the same pre-show ritual he’s done for years and years.

In a video posted to Shelton’s Twitter profile, the country singer is caught just hanging out and gives details on what he likes to do in order to prepare for his concerts night after night. While it’s nothing out of the ordinary, it’s still got the signature Shelton twist.

“My pre-show rituals are…haven’t changed in 15 years, except what it is. I like to have a drink or two before I go on stage because I like to be relaxed,” he says in the short clip.

Shelton also goes on to say that he enjoys pumping up some tunes before taking the stage to and his playlist all depends on what his mood is like that night. From traditional country to 80s rock, Shelton covers all the music bases in terms of having a rocking playlist.

Currently, Shelton is going back and forth between performing shows across the country and filming for Season 11 of The Voice. He’ll be headed back to Nashville briefly though on August 30 to honor Glen Campbell in a collaborative performance with Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban and Toby Keith at the 10th Annual ACM Honors.
