Could Blake Shelton be retiring from the music business? It’s true, says the Oklahoma native in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight.

While chatting with ET’s Sophie Schillaci and fellow The Voice coach Alicia Keys on the NBC back lot, the country superstar revealed that he had plans to quit after his last album If I’m Honest, but his next project may actually be his swan song.

“I mean, that last album I made was gonna be my last — this next album I’m makin’s probably gonna be my last album,” he said. “So I really gotta decide what I wanna do.”

While both Keys and Schillaci objected, Shelton persisted by adding that the following season of the hit NBC reality competition show may also be his last. “I don’t do entertainment anymore, kids,” he insisted.

Though she initially disagreed with his plans to retire, Keys quickly pictured Shelton’s life off the grid.

“I could see you not doing entertainment though, actually. Just gettin’ up early, weedin’ and hoein’,” she shared.

Though it’s hard to tell whether or not Shelton is serious about his plans to bid farewell to music, fans will certainly be waiting with their fingers crossed hoping for much more music in years to come.
