The country music community is continuing to show it’s strength and resilience to carry on in the face of tragedy after Bobby Bones of The Bobby Bones Show hosted a morning of Love > Hate. Joining the popular radio DJ and his crew in the studio Tuesday morning (Oct. 3) was Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, Dan + Shay, Brothers Osborne, Maren Morris, Ryan HurdChris Janson and LOCASH.

While the mood was somber, the message of the show was that music heals and brings us together in a time of need. Morris, joined by Hurd, sang her song “Dear Hate,” which she released on YouTube on Monday and is now available on iTunes.

“I just never wanted to capitalize on some sort of tragedy by releasing this song so I just never released it,” said the Texas native. “It just never seemed like a right time to do it, but I’m giving my share of the song’s proceeds to Music City Cares Fund and we know that 100 percent of what… their donations are going to the victims for short-term and long-term affects. So I just feel like it was time for the world to hear it.”

In addition to Morris and Hurd’s moving performance, Bentley was on hand to sing his song “Here on Earth,” about ‘somebody who is struggling with their faith’ and not getting answers while you’re ‘here on earth.’ The Arizona native volunteered to join Bones in the studio after seeing plans for the show on Twitter.

“I don’t want to be doing this because I wish this wasn’t happening, but I’m honored to be here and it’s a good chance to be part of the voices that… it’s a community. It’s a community and we’re all coming together,” Bentley said. “I can’t imagine what our friends in Las Vegas are going through and of course, all of our fans across the country. It’s a real time of needing to be together and just work through it together.”

At the conclusion of the show, Bones thanked his fans for listening and revealed that they’d raised more than $50,000 for the victims.
