While many of country music’s biggest names were in Las  Vegas for the 51st annual Academy of Country Music Awards, there was one who noticeably missing from the festivities… Brad Paisley.

Paisley bypassed Sin City and headed futher west to the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles for a special performance with pop sensation Demi Lovato on her song “Stone Cold.”

“Every time I write a song, or every time I do a scene when I act, I always draw from personal experience,” she recently told Entertainment Tonight of the latest single from Lovato’s Confident album. “I think this song, a lot of people can relate to. For me, it was therapy, but I also knew that a lot of people could relate to it – so I wrote it.”

And though many country stars were not in attendance at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, several of them took home awards. Chris Janson took Country Song of the Year with “Buy Me A Boat,” Luke Bryan was named Best Country Artist and ironically, Zac Brown Band claimed Best Rock Song for “Heavy Is the Head,” featuring Chris Cornell.
