Brantley Gilbert has rescheduled the European leg of his Blackout Tour for early May.

Gilbert postponed the dates after the devastating attacks on Paris that shocked the world. Paris underwent six coordinated attacks on Friday, Nov. 13, including a hostage situation at a Eagles of Death Metal concert. The attack  was claimed by ISIS and left 129 dead and 352 injured.

“Out of respect for the lives lost in yesterday’s terrorist attacks, we have decided to postpone the rest of our European dates,” he announced on Twitter. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of France at this tragic time. WE WILL BE BACK.”

“At a time like that, there are more important things than getting up and rocking out,” he said with the announcement of new dates. “We took a moment to pray, regroup allow people time to grieve. But we said we’d be back… and we’re coming.”

“This is why I play music,” Brantley added. “To bring it to the people…to bring them together. We are in this together, and these songs I write are their lives, too. For me to go to places like Germany, England, Scotland – it makes the world bigger and smaller, and I like that. We’re not so different. People like to rock and be real; that’s what we’re finally getting to do.

The new run of shows will begin May 5 in Glasgow at Oran Mor. He will then play May 6 a Manchester’s Academy Two, May 7 at Birmingham’s 02 Institute 2 and May 8 at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
