Brett Eldredge Performs ‘Wanna Be That Song’ on ‘Today’

Thank God it’s Friday and thank God for the Today show for bringing Brett Eldredge on to start the morning off right by having him perform at Studio 1A.

Eldredge came by the popular morning talk show to promote his latest radio single, “Wanna Be That Song,” and perform the hit for the enthusiastic audience. Being the charmer that everyone knows and loves, Eldredge chatted with Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb about the romantic track before taking the stage and said it was one of his favorites he’s ever worked on.

“’I Wanna Be That Song’ that makes you laugh, ‘I Wanna Be That Song’ that makes you cry,’ you know I want people to listen to this and have it take them back to that moment when they fell in love or the big moments in their life and that’s what this song is all about. I love to sing it. I wrote this. This is my favorite song I’ve ever written, I think,” he explained.

The country singer crooned over the tune, with the crowd falling more in love with his voice and the song as the performance went on. Eldredge even got Guthrie and Kotb to blush a little bit as he sang the sweet song.

While hanging out on set, the puppy lover within Eldredge could not help but cuddle with Charlie, the show’s “Puppy with a Purpose.” Charlie, who came to hang out on the talk show last month, is a part of America’s VetDogs, which is a non-profit organization that pairs up pooches with veterans and first responders to support them emotionally and physically during combat.

Eldredge is currently out on the road for the rest of the fall on the Ripcord Tour with Keith Urban and Maren Morris. The country singer also jumped on the holiday bandwagon and is releasing his first-ever Christmas album, Glow, on October 28. Fans can pre-order the album through his website now.
