While they made love look so simple and easy, Brett Eldredge and Sadie Robertson kept the on-set vibes light and fun when filming the music video for “The Long Way.”

Eldredge released a behind-the-scenes clip of the two hanging out in their down time from filming, and they definitely were like two peas in a pod from the start of the cameras rolling. Although the two are just friends in real life, they played up the romance factor with their acting skills and enjoyed the dreamy day getting to know more about one another.

Braving the sweltering heat to create an autumn-inspired video for his latest single, Eldredge complained a time or two about how sweaty he and his lovely co-star were getting in their cozy apparel. But he accepted the sacrifice when looking at final clips of the process and seeing the fall editing capabilities applied to the scenes to make them look like a gorgeous October evening.

From dancing in barns to playing around in a hidden creek, the two played it cool in their downtime by forgetting about the pressures of filming and allowing themselves to just hang out like long-time friends. Their natural chemistry, though, let the love story unfold once ‘Action’ was called.

The pair even made jokes with one another as Eldredge put on his own version of a Southern accent to explain to Robertson how he got to keep his great-grandfather’s vintage car.

Eldredge chose “The Long Way” as his second single because he wanted to show his fans what he’s looking for in a relationship and the qualities he enjoys about a significant other.

“‘The Long Way’ is a look into what I want to find in love,” Eldredge said previously. “It’s about getting to know somebody more than just on the surface, getting to know somebody deep down to their core. It’s more than just taking the long way around their town, it’s through their imagination. It’s them telling you everything about where they came from. You want to know every single detail – where they wrecked their bike the first time, where their parents fell in love, the lot where the car they drove in high school is sitting. I think this song says don’t be afraid to have that conversation, don’t be afraid to get to know that person,” Eldredge explained about the song.”

Fans can hear “The Long Way” on country radio now.
