Brett Young has been on his fair share of tours as an opening act, and he’s finally coming into his own with the headlining Caliville Tour he embarked on for the fall season.

The “Sleep Without You” singer spent the summer seeing towns all across the country while opening up for Lady Antebellum on the You Look Good Tour, but Young wanted to make his own shows more intimate and connected to the cities by scheduling shows in the heart of the urban landscape. Scouting out popular clubs and venues on the streets of the metropolis chaos, Young anticipated a great time for fans by giving them the time they deserved out of his sets.

“It feels awesome. We’re getting out on the road and really putting some miles on the bus. It’s awesome. We had so much fun the last year, year-and-a-half getting to be on these bigger tours. We were so excited to get out and have our own hour-and-15 minute set where we could dive into more songs form the record and be fun and creative with our covers and things like that. Not only that, but a lot of times when you’re playing the bigger venues as an opener, the bigger venues are 20 minutes outside of the city. All these clubs that we’re playing on the Caliville Tour are right in the heart of some really cool cities. We’re having a blast. More time onstage, but also more time to see some cool cities and parts of the country,” Young exclusively told Sounds Like Nashville during a phone interview.

Snagging his friend and fellow country artist, Carly Pearce, as his tour opener, the California native is thrilled to travel around with someone he grew close to during their rise to fame.

“Carly and I started playing songwriter rounds together almost four years ago when I first moved to Nashville,” he explained. “When we were looking at openers for this, she had just signed with Big Machine, which is very exciting that she was part of the Big Machine family. I knew that she was putting a single out and I knew what song it was going to be, and I knew I loved that song and needed to have that on the tour. We went to her and we kind of begged a little bit. It’s been really complimentary. We’ve been getting out every night and doing a song together, covering ‘Whiskey Lullaby.’ It’s been really, really fun.”

The Caliville Tour will continue to run through cities until the middle of December. More dates and information are available on Young’s official website.
