Brett Young wishes his love a sweet sentiment directly to her through a beautiful performance piece for the video of his new single, “In Case You Didn’t Know.”

Shot just a couple hours outside of Nashville in Chattanooga, TN, Young sings his deepest feelings while balancing his hectic life as he sets up for a show in a gorgeous, old-fashioned theater. Looking dreamily into the camera during the performance-based video, the country singer shows himself dedicated as he croons over the sweet love song he wrote with Trent Tomlinson and Tyler Reeve.

“It’s a sweet little love song I wrote with my friends, Trent Tomlinson and Tyler Reeve, on a writer’s retreat. Trent started telling us a story about something his mom always did growing up. He said every time he’d leave the house, she’d stop him on his way out the door and say, ‘Hey Trent, in case you didn’t know, I love you.’ And me and Tyler both looked at each other and we were like, ‘Well, we gotta write that song,’” Young explained in a behind-the-scenes look at the video shoot.

Just as the video focuses more on the idea of a romantic relationship than a specific meaning toward one person, Young recognizes the song’s meaning in that regard for a more relatable message to go out to his fans.“’In Case You Didn’t Know’ was more an idea of love rather than a song to a specific person, and in that way, hopefully everybody hearing it can apply their own love story,” he said.
