Brett Young is kicking off 2018 with a major bang by notching the first No. 1 track of the year with his single, “Like I Loved You.”

Gaining speed at the end of 2017 to soar up the charts on both the Mediabase and Billboard lists, Young earned himself his third career No. 1. Of course, the singer celebrated in style by toasting his recent success to the start of a new year, hoping the rest of the days look just as bright as his accomplishment.

“This was such awesome news to start the new year,” Young said in a press release. “I’m genuinely blown away and so thankful to my fans and country radio for their continued support of my music.”

It sure looks like 2018 will mark a great time for Young as he anticipates his sophomore record to be released in the next few months. Starting the creative process late last year, the California native can’t wait to get back into the ring to put out some fresh tracks that mean even more to him.

“There are songs I’m so excited to get out there. I’m chomping at the bit to get them out there for people to hear. I think I have a really good idea now of what kind of fans I have now, what they are looking for and what it is about my music that makes them connect and things that don’t. My goal for it is to have it similar or equal enough to the first record that you don’t lose any of those fans that have been with you since the first record, but different enough that you can go and grab a new demographic. I think we’ve done that. You never know with a new project and there’s a little bit of nerves surrounding that, but I think it’s more excitement that it’s creating than anything else,” Young told Sounds Like Nashville during a recent interview.

Young will soon hit the road alongside Thomas Rhett for the Life Changes Tour running throughout 2018. Fans can find more information about the run on Young’s official website.
