As a songwriter, Cannon has written some of country music’s most celebrated #1 hits including “Set’em Up Joe” recorded by Vern Gosdin and the ACM 2006 Song of the Year and CMA 2007 Song of the Year, “Give It Away,” recorded by George Strait.

Cannon and Chesney co-produced an album by Willie Nelson, Moment of Forever, which was released in January 2008. Cannon has recently been in the studio producing a duet album with Willie and his 21 year old son Lukas Nelson.
