Canaan Smith Celebrating Cinco de Mayo With Huge Get Together For His Wife
While everyone knows that May 5 comes with partying in honor of the Mexican holiday, Smith and his wife will actually be honoring another very important occasion on the fun-filled day.
The fiesta is about to get muy caliente for Canaan Smith and Co. because they’ve got two big things to celebrate this Cinco de Mayo weekend.
While everyone knows that May 5 comes with the territory of drinking margaritas and partying in honor of the Mexican holiday, Smith and his wife Christy will actually be honoring another very important occasion on the fun-filled day. Graduating with her doctorate, Smith’s lovely lady will officially become a family nurse practitioner after earning her final degree on Saturday. Noting that it’s reason to commemorate the exciting day in both styles, Smith wanted to go all out for his special someone.
“Well, we combined Cinco de Mayo with my wife’s graduation party. So tomorrow night at Bartaco [in Nashville], they allowed us to rent out the patio and we’re going to have a Cinco de Mayo-slash-graduation party for my wife, who is getting her doctorate on Saturday,” Smith revealed exclusively to Sounds Like Nashville.
Not only does Smith have plans on Cinco de Mayo to show off his bride of three years, he also uses her inspiration as his muse on his current single, “Like You That Way.” Singing about the strong woman of his dreams, Smith couldn’t help but throw some of her magic into one of his tracks that fans get to bump up on their country music radio dials.
“Like You That Way” is Smith’s first taste at what’s to come on his forthcoming sophomore release. The song is available now for purchase and streaming.
