Canaan Smith Shares Family Plans for Mother’s Day

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, Smith plans to honor his mom for all she’s done over the years. Raising a whopping six kids gains her great respect from the country singer, especially because for a while there, she happened to be the queen of the household as the only woman around. Although she managed to survive taking care of that many little boys, Smith still believes she deserves all of the attention given no matter what day of the year it is.
“I love her! I drive her crazy. I love my mom so much. She’s an absolute saint. I mean, she had six kids—five of them are boys. She had four boys, five years and younger in a row. At one time, she had four boys and they were five years old or younger. For that, she should be in the Hall of Fame,” Smith told Sounds Like Nashville during a recent interview.
Smith hopes to grab a free day off to go out and celebrate his mother on the special Sunday holiday, and show her how much she truly is appreciated by keeping the day simple and letting her do what she loves the most: making dinner for the family.
“She lives outside of town now in Smyrna, so we will do our best to be in town and go love on her, make her feel special,” he said. “She likes to cook, so we’ll probably go to her house and be out in the yard playing cornhole, drinkin’ some beers and let her cook us some food. She gets the most joy out of that.”
