Carly Pearce and Michael Ray Are Country Music’s Hottest New Couple
Love is in the air!
Carly Pearce is on fire this year. After a breakout 2017, the momentum continued as the “Hide the Wine” singer joined four major summer tours as the only female representation. And while her music career is blossoming, it seems her love life is too.
After weeks of flirting and speculation by fans on Instagram, the Kentucky native shared the news that she’s dating country crooner Michael Ray after a special meet-cute at a beloved Music City honky tonk.
In a photo posted to Instagram July 18, the couple looked more than cozy while snuggled up on a couch backstage at the Grand Ole Opry. Each shared the photo with a similar caption reading, “And then one random night at the Nashville Palace changed everything.”

Earlier that afternoon, however, Ray played coy when asked about their relationship status during a round-table interview.
“I think when it comes time to talk about the dating life, it’ll come out, but she’s a great girl, and I think that she’s an incredible person. Right now, everything on book is about both our singles and both our music. It’ll come out. She’s great. I’m a big fan. I’ll leave it at that,” said Ray when asked about the online flirting.
Citing that his favorite thing to do with “a certain somebody” is listen to classic country music and drink wine, Ray admitted to being happier than ever. He also shared that their meeting place, the Nashville Palace, is one of his favorite places to go in Music City.
“It’s my tradition to go there after I play the Opry every time. I just love it. I love going there. I love traditional country music,” he said of the venue, located across the street from the Grand Ole Opry House. “That’s what my passion is, and so I love the Opry and love being in that whole realm of going up there and seeing all the older people two-stepping and all the bands that come through. It’s just a cool thing. It’s different than Broadway–a whole different vibe. Nashville Palace is probably my favorite place to go to.”
