On a very hot Thursday afternoon in Nashville, members of the country music industry gathered at The Bell Tower to celebrate Carrie Underwood and her 23rd and 24th No.1 songs, “Heartbeat” and “Church Bells.”

“God is good. I’ve been so incredibly blessed throughout my life and my career, but mainly because I get to work with the best,” said the Oklahoma native as she pointed to her co-writers Hillary Lindsey, Brett James, Zach Crowell and Ashley Gorley.

As part of the event, Underwood and the songwriters performed an acoustic set of the hit songs as a thank you to the many people involved with getting the tracks to the top of the charts. The singers/songwriters closed the set with a stunning rendition of “Jesus, Take The Wheel,” the Oklahoma native’s first No.1, also written by James and Lindsey.

“Nashville’s been so great to me and I’m beyond thankful and will continue to just look at my life and say ‘how? How and why? How am I here?’ I’m just so amazed on a daily basis,” she added.

The party also included themed drinks, mini ‘Heartbeat’ and ‘Church Bell’ cupcakes baked by Underwood’s best friend Ivey Childers, owner of Ivey Cakes, as well as a Happy Birthday sing-along for Hillary Lindsey, as she turned 40.
