The long wait to hear Carrie Underwood’s Super Bowl anthem “The Champion” is over as the superstar has released the uplifting track. Co-written by Underwood, Brett James, Chris DeStefano and Christopher Bridges, the song will be played ahead of NBC’s Super Bowl LII on February 4 with a video filmed last year.

The pop-driven song includes lyrics like “I am invincible, unbreakable, unstoppable, unshakable/ They knock me down, I get up again / I am the champion.”

While the track highlights the ‘champions’ heading into the big game, the song has also been selected by NBC Sports for its coverage of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

“When we were writing ‘The Champion,’ our main focus was to celebrate athletes at the top of their game, but we also wanted the song to resonate with people in their everyday lives,” explained Underwood. “We hope the lyrics will inspire people to push themselves beyond their limits to conquer anything they are trying to accomplish or overcome. There’s a champion in every single one of us!”

“The Champion” wasn’t complete without a special collaboration between Underwood and Bridges, better known as Ludacris. The rapper was honored to work with the Oklahoma native on the track, saying “It was a pleasure to collaborate with Carrie for this inspirational song.”
