Carrie Underwood Dishes on Motherhood and Life on the Road with Isaiah
“It’s definitely different having a toddler out on the road with us," Underwood shares.

It’s true – moms make the world go round. They’ll move mountains and do whatever they can to give their children the best life possible. The same goes for Carrie Underwood, who juggles not only being a mom to 19-month-old Isaiah but also being a worldwide country music superstar.
To further prove she’s a supermom, Underwood has had Isaiah out on the road with her all year as she’s toured the country for her Storyteller Tour – Stories In The Round. Having the new, young addition has been a huge learning curve for the star, who’s been hitting the road hard since 2006. While she does most things on her own, she has also embraced the help of those around her to help keep things in working order.
“It’s definitely different having a toddler out on the road with us. It does take a village, you know, and just lots of different people step up and watch him and play with him and just like to see him around,” Underwood told Sounds Like Nashville exclusively while backstage at her recent show in Indianapolis. “I’m like it’s kind of like take your son to work day every day, you know, and he’s always there and sometimes things might take a little long for me to get ready because he’s just everywhere, but it’s great too, just being able to spend all day with him.”
The time together is something Underwood wouldn’t trade for the world, even when Isaiah gets into things he probably shouldn’t have.
“Our bus is a mess and there’s like blocks everywhere and stuffed animals everywhere and constantly filled with ‘don’t play in the trash,’ ‘you can’t jump off the bed,’ just things like that. ‘Don’t try to ride the dog,’” she laughed. “Today, he was playing in my little mascara, eye liner bag that I have and he took the eye liner out and started drawing on his face with it.”
