Carrie Underwood strives to keep her sound and her music as dynamic as it can get, and her latest album, Storyteller, explores a variety of themes and topics for fans to channel into as they get into the groove of each individual song.

While the CMA Female Vocalist of the Year has progressed over time in her career as a country artist, she’s also made a strong point to create music that allows her listeners to explore and dive into a range of emotions throughout each project.

She’s now four singles deep into Storyteller with her latest hit, “Dirty Laundry,”  and has jumped in topics from the calm of falling love on “Heartbeat” to the riveting story of domestic abuse in “Church Bells.” No matter what song she chooses to put out to fans through country radio though, the country star just hopes her music makes a steady impact in each emotion it strikes.

“I love making an album that I feel like is just full of single potential songs. I love covering as much ground as I possibly can in an album. I, as a fan of music, don’t wanna put a CD in or play an album from start to finish and hear the same song over and over again,” she explained recently. “I want to be able to go on a ride and explore and I do feel like the storytelling aspect is something that all the songs kind a have that thread in common. I do hope that people will not just go and listen to the singles… I think that’s great if they’re in to anything I’m doing…but, it’s always a hope when I make an album that I make an album full of…just, track after track that people love. So, I would definitely encourage people to kind of give the rest of the album a listen as well because there’s a lot of different sounds and themes going on in the album.”

Underwood is still currently promoting her single, “Dirty Laundry,” which is climbing the radio charts now. Fans can watch the music video for the sassy infidelity tune below.
