Carrie Underwood Loves the ‘Relaxed Groove’ of New Single ‘Dirty Laundry’
The single keeps with her Storyteller theme by creating a painted picture about the horrible scenario of a cheating relationship.
Carrie Underwood is yet again proving that she is indeed the current queen in country music with the release of “Dirty Laundry.” The song marks her fourth radio single off of Storyteller.
Her new song being released onto the radio format, “Dirty Laundry,” keeps with the storytelling theme of her album by creating a vision with her clever lyrics about a certain scenario. This time around, it has to do all about cheating and not letting it ruin the character of the song.
Underwood got honest about the track recently when she talked about the harsh subject as it heads to speakers across America to let listeners know the real truth behind its theme.
“’Dirty Laundry’ kind of starts out, this story about the whole…it’s a take on a cheater in a familiar way, with the lipstick on the collar and the red wine and there’s all these tell-tale signs that he was with another woman and it shows on his dirty laundry. But it’s also that she airs it out for the whole world to see, metaphorically, and literally, airs his dirty laundry out to the world – strings it up on the porch. In case you feel like comin’ back, this is gonna be a reminder to you not to do that,” she explained.
“I love the relaxed groove of the song combined with the vengeful storyline,” she added. “That combination of strong, empowering lyrics set against the cool, laid-back sound, puts a new spin on the subject matter that feels really fresh and cool.”
Underwood has seen great success with Storyteller’s previous singles with “Heartbeat,” “Church Bells”, and “Smoke Break.”
