No one matches up to the powerful vocals of country star Carrie Underwood… not even her husband, Mike Fisher.

Try as he might, Fisher was caught in the act by Underwood when he began singing along to her recent single, “Cry Pretty,” when it came on the radio in the car. Although he gave the impromptu performance his all, it sounded like Underwood wasn’t overly impressed with his spontaneous falsetto notes during the drive.

“Sounds just like the original… #CryPretty @mfisher1212,” the singer captioned the Instagram clip, which earned a lot of laughs and encouragement from fans in the comment section.

She even tried to boost up his morale by inquiring whether or not Fisher would like to take up a pastime in her realm of entertainment since he proved himself worthy of the spotlight.

“Are you going to start your new career as a country singer, babe,” Underwood asks her man in a joking tone, to which he replies by singing the ‘no’ part of the song with great grit. Even Isaiah, who was happily riding along in the backseat, started to laugh over his father’s attempt at performing.

Fisher just recently hung up his skates and retired from the NHL after almost two decades reigning over the ice on both the Ottawa Senators and Nashville Predators lineups. No word on his plans for his next profession endeavor.

“Cry Pretty” is playing on country radio now, and Underwood’s album with the same name will arrive on September 14.
