It is definitely Carrie Underwood’s time to shine as the singer just announced a brand new album called Cry Pretty coming out later this year.

Marking the beginning of a new era for Underwood, the singer put her heart and soul behind this upcoming project in a way like never before. Not only did she co-write the lead single, “Cry Pretty,” but she also co-produced the entire album with David Garcia.

Even more exciting for listeners will be the chance to listen to Underwood’s stories by way of song after the brief break she took from the spotlight. The Oklahoma native noted how empowered she felt while making the record, and wishes for her supporters to embrace the new sound she will embark upon this time around.

“At this point in my career, I feel stronger and more creative than ever. I think you can hear that in this new album. It’s emotional, it’s soulful, it’s real, and we also have some fun on there too. I hope everyone loves it as much as I have loved making it,” Underwood said about the record in a press release.

Underwood continues to stay on the up-and-up as she released her latest single, “Cry Pretty,” to radio and received the most adds of any country artist during its first week. She also received a standing ovation for her performance of the song at the ACM Awards in Las Vegas, leaving her in tears of gratitude over the love.
