At this point, who isn’t envious of how toned Carrie Underwood manages to be?

The country superstar always rocks the red carpet and her tour ensembles with her killer legs and a fit physique to boot. Never slacking on her vegetarian diet and sticking to her weekly exercise routines no matter what her schedule looks like, Underwood keeps up with her health and fitness goals and she’s finally revealing how she stays in shape all year long.

While being a mother to little Isaiah could throw off her balanced shred sessions, Underwood typically plans on morning workouts to get things out of the way so she can enjoy whatever’s left on her plate for the hours ahead.

“It’s all about just doing what you can, when you can, and cutting yourself a little slack. I used to workout six or seven days a week, and now it just doesn’t happen. If I’m not going to be able to do anything because my day is packed, I try to get in a small, thirty-minute workout earlier. And just doing that, I feel good for the rest of my day. Don’t wait ‘til the end,” Underwood told Buzzfeed about her routine.

One of the hardest hurdles to hop over for Underwood, though, comes with the territory of nibbling on her son’s snacks. Although she tries not to cheat on her plant-based lifestyle, she can’t help but chow down if she sees any leftovers there on his plate.

“I feel like one of my biggest problems is not making myself eat his food he doesn’t eat,” Underwood admitted. “I hate wasting food and I hate wasting water. If I’m going to put it on my plate, I’m going to eat it all. I make enough just for us and I don’t ever want to waste it. I’ll eat leftovers for a week because I hate wasting food.”

Currently, Underwood is taking her job as full-time mother seriously as she’s been spending some time off the road and out of the studio to be with her family before her next big project.
