Cassadee Pope Gives Inside Scoop on Touring with Chris Young

It’s no surprise that duet partners and fellow country singers Cassadee Pope and Chris Young became fast friends. They released their mega-hit single together, “Think of You,” which was recently nominated for a CMA Award in the Vocal Event of the Year category. After heading out on the road with each other earlier this year, Pope and Young are getting back at it for the fall months ahead.

For someone like Pope, who loves going and performing live any chance she can get, it makes it even more fun when she gets to play alongside one of her closest friends in the country music industry. She looked forward to the first leg of the I’m Comin’ Over Tour and she couldn’t be more excited for her shows with Young this fall.

“It’s been really incredible because we’ve become such good friends, so off the road, we hang out and we’re talking about getting in to write some more and possibly doing an EP someday because we just loved singing together so much. But getting to go back on tour is great because people are singing ‘Think of You’ now for us. We can put the mics out to the crowd and they’re singing it super loud, which is crazy,” she explained to Sounds Like Nashville in a recent phone interview.

This time around though, Pope and Young are embracing the phrase, ‘the more the merrier,’ as artists like Dan + Shay and Dustin Lynch will join them for portions of the tour. Pope can’t wait to see how the energy shifts with all of their creative minds traveling together and hopes that it gives fans a different experience for their live shows.

“It’s just fun to add some more artists to the bill ‘cause it was just Chris and I at the beginning of the year, so it’s going to be a bit of a heightened experience. I’m really excited about it.”

The second leg of the I’m Comin’ Over Tour just picked back up and will run through the month of December. More information and details about the tour are available on Pope’s website.
