Chase Bryant may seem like an overnight success story, but the 22-year-old has been following his dream of becoming a musician for years.

After leaving Orange Grove, TX at age 16 for Los Angeles, he eventually made his way to Nashville, TN. It was there that he signed his record deal with Broken Bow Records, under their Red Bow imprint, and quickly became one-to-watch for country fans and radio alike.

His debut single, “Take It On Back,” landed him his first Top 10. His second and current single, “Little Bit of You,” marks his first Top 5 and is still climbing. The track has had a slow and steady rise since its March 2015 release.

“I told somebody at the label the other day, my buddy Carson [James], who is the senior VP there. I was telling him, I said ‘Man, I feel like this record’s about to be in a wheelchair.’ Like it’s old! It’s almost a year old,” Bryant told Sounds Like Nashville.

The slow climb to the top hasn’t bothered the Texas native though. He knows that sometimes, a song takes awhile to really be heard.

“Sometimes I feel like it takes time for a song to connect. And I mean, there’s a millions songs that I’ve listened to over and over and over and didn’t get it until so many times through.”

Bryant, himself, even had a hard time connecting to the track when he originally wrote it with Derek George and Ashley Gorley.

“We wrote that song and I didn’t know if I was a fan of it,” he admitted. “At first, I kind of thought the song was bad. But writing with Ashley Gorley, who had three triple play awards this year, it’s kind of hard to say it wasn’t going to be a hit. I sent it to Jon Loba at the label and said ‘Hey man, I don’t know if this is anything that’s us. If not, let me know or I’m going to pitch it.’ He called me back immediately, which is pretty rare from him, and he said ‘dude, you need to listen to the song again. This is gonna be a single, I’m telling you.’”

The singer took the advice to heart and immediately went back into the studio with the track.

“We had been finishing up an EP for the Brantley Gilbert tour, went back in that night, finished up what was our work tape that we literally just finished up and polished up a little bit and it’s on radio now.”

The rising star couldn’t be more appreciative of the chance country radio took on him and allowing their fans to hear his songs.

“It’s one of those things I never would have imagined happening, having success on my first two. I thought it would have taken a really long time to get it across the board and somehow or another, it’s happened” he said. “Country radio, for sure, guys that have taken a shot on me and I give people credit. All these other people who have really given in to playing my music and making their stations play my music, it’s really comforting.”

Fans can listen to “Little Bit of You,” “Take It On Back” and more on Bryant’s self-titled EP.
