Chase Rice is back at country radio with a brand new single, “Everybody We Know Does.” The song is one Rice is thrilled about, not only because of its powerful live impact, but also because of how closely he relates to its strong lyrics.

“‘Everybody We Know Does’ is the first single off of my coming album. I don’t really know what record it is now, second or third. To me, it’s me more than anything I’ve ever put out as a single,” the singer tells Sounds Like Nashville. “I finally got to put out a song that was 100 percent me. It was me from the time I was a little kid growing up on a farm in Florida to the farm in North Carolina to now my farm in Tennessee.”

While Rice didn’t pen the track (it was written by Jeremy Bussey and Travis Denning), he believes that fans will understand him a bit more and it gives a good look into the upcoming album.

“That album’s going to be… it’s going to go right along with that single. It’s going to be 100 percent me. I’ve not been listening to other music and I don’t really know where country music is going, and not to be negative about it at all, but I really don’t care because I can only control where my music is going.”

The Everybody We Know Does tour, featuring special guests Ryan Hurd and Lacy Cavalier, kicks off Thursday Sept. 8 in New Haven, Conn.
