As an admirer of songwriting, Rice knew that his latest single, "Everybody We Know Does," sounded like something he would say, so he had to make it his own.

Instead of moving to Nashville to see his name up in lights, Chase Rice came with the initial idea to become a songwriter. He recognized that country music was more than just the people singing on stage and also about the ones who put their heart and souls into the actual songs.

When he heard his latest single, “Everybody We Know Does,” he knew that the song sounded like something he would write and became instantly attracted to the lyric. With a couple quick changes, the original songwriters were on board and Rice knew he had to record it.

“Country’s definitely been, you know, along the way throughout all the great artists of any generation, there’s usually great song writers behind them. And I moved to town to be a songwriter, and that means the world. Songwriting to me is just as important, if not more important than being an artist. And I do love writing my own stuff, but at same time I heard this song and thought to myself…my first thought was ‘well, would have I written it this way?’ And the answer was ‘yes.’ Then I ended up changing a couple of things, played the changes for the guys, and they liked them. But overall, they did all the work,” Rice said of the song which was written by Jeremy Bussey and Travis Denning.

Rice has worked on many songs that are known in country music, including the massive Florida Georgia Line hit, “Cruise.” He also has credits on FGL’s upcoming album, Dig Your Roots, as well as many of his own cuts.

Come fall, Rice will be taking his new music including, “Everybody We Know Does,” out on the road for a concert tour. He’ll be stopping along in cities like New Haven, Connecticut, Flagstaff, Arizona and Omaha, Nebraska. More dates will be released in the next coming week and information about the Everybody We Know Does Tour can be found on Rice’s website HERE.
