After making a poignant point throughout the emotional lyrics of “Drunk Girl,” Chris Janson took the moving song to a live performance video worthy of admiration and tears.

Stripping down the ballad to just Janson’s voice and a grand piano, the country singer coos out the powerful message while captivating viewers with its black-and-white aesthetic. After earning dozens of radio adds during its first day shipped out to stations, the singer expressed his thankfulness out to fans and industry professionals alike for taking the song in as their own and relating it back to their own life.

“Thanks to everyone for the outpouring of positive love,” said Janson in a press release. “From the stories you’ve shared with me in person to the emails to the comments on social media – it’s incredible. ‘Drunk Girl’ is a very special song.”

Most listeners know Janson’s wild personality through songs like “Buy Me a Boat” and “Fix a Drink,” but Janson took a turn toward the touching side for his latest single. As a father and loving husband to his family he adores dearly, Janson knew taking a stance on something so impactful would show a deeper side to his recording persona.

“It’s a message song to the younger generation of men about being sure that you always show women the utmost of respect, certainly in the situations of taking somebody home, or in youthful terms, ‘hooking up.’ You want to make sure that you are doing it with great respect and being a man about it,” he previously said to Sounds Like Nashville about the track.

“Drunk Girl” is the second single off of Janson’s sophomore record, Everybody, which is available in stores or online now.
