Chris Janson has a lot to thankful for this week as his latest single, “Fix A Drink,” has reached the No.1 spot on the Country Aircheck / Mediabase chart. The accolade marks Janson’s second ascent to the top spot, following his wildly-successful “Buy Me A Boat.”

“Having a hit on country radio is a huge blessing – it’s Thanksgiving week, and I’m extremely thankful,” said Janson in a press release. “Reaching my country fans through radio has always been a dream of mine. Thanks for allowing me to make my dreams come true.”

The song, which has more than 20 million on-demand streams, was co-written by Janson with Chris DuBois and Ashley Gorley. The summertime smash is one of 12 songs on his new album that allowed Janson to grow as an artist, but also stayed true to who he is as an artist.

“You don’t want to stray from your core audience, but with this album I was able to branch out a little bit. And that all attributes to where I am in my touring life. It attributes to where I am in my musical life, and just frankly sometimes, I get bored doing the same old thing and I want to write different kinds of songs. To be honest with you, I took kind of a pop stance and attitude on a few songs on this album, as well as some really traditional steel guitar country stances, and you mix those two things together, and you get a really, neat, eclectic record that is absolutely branded Chris Janson,” the singer told Sounds Like Nashville and other media previously.

The singer will continue to tour through the month of December, before taking a couple weeks off, only to return to the road in mid-January.
