Chris Janson Reveals His Tour Necessities

Chris Janson is spending his summer out on one of this year’s hottest tours.

Hitting cities across the country with Sam Hunt and Maren Morris on the 15 in a 30 Tour, Janson stocks up on all of his favorites for his traveling schedule. But throughout the endless packing and prepping, there’s only a couple necessities he wants to keep around at all times whenever he plays shows on the road.

“It’s Kelly [his wife] and the kids, first of all. Secondly, it’s cold cans of Mountain Dew. And, I’ll be honest with you, I like to have a nice box of cigars and the guys like a couple bottles of Tito’s [Handmade Vodka] and that kind of thing,” Janson told Sounds Like Nashville and other media recently.

Not only does Janson rely on his family essentials, he also likes to keep his bus moving in perfect stride. With that in mind, the Missouri native seeks out the best driver in town to get him to where he needs to go next with no hassle or stress weighing upon him or his crew.

“Other than that though, I will tell you, beside Kelly and the kids, which would be the most important part … the most important part that I like to have on the road is good driver,” admitted Janson. “I’m serious, a good driver is hard to find. Extremely hard to find, and believe me, I change drivers more than I change socks, so I mean, it’s like, it’s hard to find a good one.”

Of course, Janson revealed he also treats his on-tour setup like that of a summer camp where the activities are endless to keep the kids satisfied while he and his wife enjoy the warm days. At the end of it all, Janson just wants to bring the fun with him wherever he goes and possibly ‘Fix a Drink’ or two for his friends along the way.

Janson’s latest single, “Fix a Drink,” is the first single off of his forthcoming album, Everybody, out September 22.
