Earning yourself a No. 1 single right out of the gate as a new artist is almost unheard of, but Chris Lane did just that with his song, “Fix,” when it fired up country radio a few months back.

Celebrating the huge career accomplishment, Lane and many of his closest team members and friends gathered at Nashville’s BMI building on Monday (Oct. 10). The songwriters of the hit, Jesse Frasure, Sarah Buxton and Abe Stoklasa, also appeared at the No.1 celebration.

Marking Lane’s first-ever No. 1 song for his debut single, he reveled in the honor as he revealed that he never thought he would make it to that point in his career or life.

“What a special day and an honor to be here with the songwriters who wrote an amazing song and believed in me enough to cut the song, but it was a day that I honestly never thought I would see. I mean when I graduated college and started learning how to play the guitar, I couldn’t even fathom sitting here doing something like this today. That I started out as a cover band and it kinda all happened from there. It’s a special day and one I can’t believe that happened,” Lane told Sounds Like Nashville and other media outlets present at the event.

Not only was the song a No. 1 for Lane, but Stoklasa was also celebrating his first time at the top with “Fix.” A big moment for all, including Frasure and Buxton who have had a number of great hits under their belt, it still didn’t take away the surreal feeling of notching down an accomplishment like that.

“To see this from a brand new label from a brand new artist with a song that is really special to us that we didn’t really intend to top the country charts, it was unreal. It was like no other song I’ve been a part of to watch the climb and watch the fight of everyone involved from Jensen to Brandon, who’s day-to-day management, to Joey Moi and everyone there in Craig Wiseman’s camp…it’s just incredible to watch,” said Frasure.

Throughout the rest of the gathering, Lane and the songwriters thanked their teams for everything they’ve done to push the song to its top position on the charts. A number of plaques from multiple organizations were handed down the line from speech to speech in honor of the music recognition.

Lane’s latest single, “For Her,” is climbing its way up the charts and is continuing to leave quite the emotional impact on fans thanks to its marriage proposal music video. “For Her” is available for purchase on digital music retailers and streaming services now.
