Duet partners Chris Lane and Tori Kelly make a major milestone together by going back to the place where it all began for Lane in the new music video for their collaboration, “Take Back Home Girl.”

The two take a roadtrip to the fictional town Lane calls home for that relationship-changing moment of meeting the folks. They adventure around the streets that raised him while stopping by Mom and Dad’s place for a homecooked meal. The country singer even takes his pop beauty underneath those Friday night lights to play around on the football field that he once ruled over.

Just as the song suggests, the pair sing of that special someone that you just want to show off around the place you grew up and want everyone to fall in love with just as you did. Giving both perspectives from the girl and guy point-of-view, “Take Back Home Girl” idealizes that moment when a relationship is taken to the next level by showing the other person everything about the town that raised you up.

For the pop-influenced country single, Lane definitely wanted a powerful female vocal to counteract his sound so he immediately thought of Kelly without any hesitation.

“I’ve been a big fan of Tori’s for quite some time and I had this song that I was looking for a duet with,” Lane said during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “They asked me, ‘Who’s your dream collaboration partner?’ and she was the first person I said.”

While the two aren’t heading out on the road together, Lane hopes for Kelly to join him at a few dates to give the fans a special surprise.

The video for “Take Back Home Girl” is out now, and fans can hear the single on country radio and streaming services.
