The time has come for Chris Stapleton to celebrate with his family, because he just earned the ACM Award for Male Vocalist of the Year.

Although Stapleton wasn’t in Vegas to do his own acceptance speech, it was all for good reason as he stayed in Nashville to support his wife, Morgane, during the birth of their twin boys.

“I’m going to accept the award on behalf of him tonight, and congrats on them babies, Chris,” actress Rebecca Romijn exclaimed excitedly.

Stapleton truly worked hard all year long for the Male Vocalist of the Year prize, by releasing From A Room: Volume 1 out to fans, which ended up winning ACM Album of the Year at this year’s show. He’s also been touring on the road for the majority of 2017 before he and Morgane found out their family was expanding by two little ones.

The other nominees considered to win the ACM Male Vocalist of the Year included Jason Aldean, Thomas RhettKeith Urban and Chris Young.

The 53rd Annual ACM Awards were hosted by Reba, and aired live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
