Chris Stapleton is ending his year with a bang as he just notched another chart-topping album.

From A Room: Volume 2 project debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and No.2 on the Billboard 200 chart. The release marks Stapleton’s second album to land in the top spot this year, with From A Room: Volume 1 also debuting at No.1 upon its release.

The reigning CMA Male Vocalist of the Year never intended on making duel albums, but with some extra time in 2016 and plenty of songs to be recorded, Stapleton took to Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A with producer Dave Cobb to create the 18-song collection (nine songs on Volume 1, nine on Volume 2). The result of their labor led to a CMA Album of the Year win and three GRAMMY nominations for Volume 1, and likely similar results for Volume 2.

“I didn’t feel any pressure,” he previously shared with Sounds Like Nashville of the recording process. “My goal with Traveller, I had hoped to possibly sell 50,000 records. I was going to make this record, and I was going to go out there and play music because that’s what I know how to do. Obviously, it did a little bit better than that. This time around, I tried to raise that to a degree.”

Stapleton will celebrate the rewards of his success over the upcoming months as he gears up for the 60th GRAMMY Awards, where he leads the country pack with three nominations, including Best Country Solo Performance, Best Country Song, and Best Country Album. The singer is also preparing for a personal success as he and his wife Morgane are expecting twins in the spring.
