Stylists Break Down the Fashions From Last Night’s CMT Awards
At last night’s CMT Awards (6/6), Nashville’s biggest and brightest stars brought their A-games. From killer performances to runway-worthy looks, it was a night to remember.
We caught up with two of our favorite celebrity stylists, Tiffany Gifford and Blakely Collier, to get all the behind-the-scenes dish on their clients’ red carpet style. (Spoiler alert: Some of these pieces are surprisingly affordable!)
“Abby is my bright color girl. Her skin tone can pull off great color, and she has the kind of personality that just makes you smile when you’re around her. ” says Gifford of the brunette beauty, who rocked a green romper by Lavish Alice and chartreuse shoes and hoops from ASOS. This was all about my current obsession with color blocking and styling things in the same color family. She had a great multi-colored bag, too, but the bag often gets left out of the photos. Poor clutches.”
Our very own red carpet host was the picture of summer fashion in her floral Parker dress. “Stephanie is always fun to dress,” says Collier. We wanted to do something different for the CMT Awards and found this dress with this amazing beaded bodice that worked perfectly. We added turquoise tool to help make her shoes pop and brought the whole look together.”
Teenage star on the rise Marie sparkled in a top and black pants from ASOS and Zara shoes. “She’s only 14 and such a fashion boss,” says Gifford. “She loves sparkles, but definitely has a great fashion eye. Dressing her is so much fun.”
The 14-year-old Nashville star looked all grown up in a dress by X by NBD and shoes by Joie. “The fun part about this look us we actually turned this dress around, so she’s wearing it backward,” shares Gifford. “It works so well since she pulled her hair off her face. The front was so low cut, so I suggested we turn it around. She loved it!”
