January 5 couldn’t come quick enough for those devoted Nashies, and CMT is feeding their imaginations with a new behind-the-scenes video of the first days of filming for season five for Nashville.

The video rounds up many of the main character actors of the television drama series and talks to them about all things Nashville, from their reactions to the show’s surprise cancellation a few months ago to its revived state on a new network.

“It was such a rollercoaster for a while and all the Nashies, you know, went on the rollercoaster with us,” explained Jonathan Jackson, who plays Avery Barkley, about the shocking cut of the show from ABC.

While the video doesn’t give any true sneak peeks at what lies ahead for the storyline of season five, it shows the love and bond between the cast members and crew, which translates to their connectivity within their on-screen characters.

“It really is wonderful to be back and seeing everybody again and having the fact that we managed to get the whole crew back together, it’s just so exciting,” said Clare Bowen, who takes on the role of Scarlett O’Connor.

Even the producers and creators have fallen into the new vibe of the set and are thrilled to see where it takes the show next in terms of its fan base and development.

“It’s been a really great transition,” said Callie Khouri, creator and executive producer of Nashville. “I really love the new writers. The new showrunner is fantastic.”
