And just like that… Connie Britton has a new gig! Fresh off her devastating death as Rayna James on CMT’s Nashville, the actress has landed a role in a new Netflix movie, The Land of Steady Habits, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Britton will star alongside Ted Thompson,  Ben Mendelsohn, Edie Falco and Thomas Mann in the Nicole Holofcener-directed comedic drama, which is based off the novel of the same name by Ted Thompson. The film centers on a man (Mendelsohn) whose life implodes just when it seems he has it all. Leaving his wife and affluent life in Connecticut, he buys a condo and tries to find a new sense of freedom. Upon realizing he made his decision in haste, the man embarks on a journey to redeem his professional and personal gaffes.

Britton has been cast to play a divorcee who meets Mendelsohn’s character in a strip club and develops a connection with him.

Britton shocked fans when her character Rayna James died following a horrific car accident this week on Nashville. While she told TVLine she had no immediate plans for a return to television, she did tease some upcoming movie projects.

“There are a couple of film things coming up that I’m excited about,” she said. “In terms of TV, I’m very open to whatever comes around. But moving forward, I like the idea of maybe starting something from the beginning and being really at the ground level in terms of development and creation. To me, that would be very exciting.”

A release date for The Land of Steady Habits has not yet been released.
