Connie Britton Talks ‘Nashville’ on the Emmys Red Carpet

“What I can tell you is we’re on CMT now and we have amazing new writers I’m so excited about, Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick, and it’s going to be the best writing we’ve ever seen on Nashville,” she said.

While looking glamorous as ever on the 68th Annual Emmy Awards red carpet last night (9/18), Connie Britton spilled a bit about the future of Nashville and what lies ahead in its upcoming season.

Looking red-hot in a Talbot Runhof design intricately draped in strategically-angled flat ruffles and a somewhat-embroidered lace design, Britton stopped to chat with a red carpet correspondent about the Nashville news buzzing all around. While she admitted she doesn’t know where all the talk and gossip came about from, she did have confidence that the television drama is set to have its best year yet.

“What I can tell you is we’re on CMT now and we have amazing new writers I’m so excited about, Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick, and it’s going to be the best writing we’ve ever seen on Nashville,” she said. “And it’s going to be probably the best season we’ve ever had.”

Britton attended the awards show just as a guest this year, but she has been previously nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Nashville and Friday Night Lights. She’s also been up for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role on American Horror Story.

She also made the most of the fabulous night by having a mini-reunion with former FNL co-star and television husband, Kyle Chandler, in which fans went crazy over the picture she posted of the two during her night.

Nashville will return to the small screen on January 5 on CMT.
