Country Stars React: David Bowie Dies At 69
"Goodbye David Bowie. Thank you for keeping it weird," Brad Paisley tweeted.
The world is in mourning after the tragic loss of English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, arranger, painter and actor David Bowie.
Best known for songs like “Let’s Dance” and “Changes,” the singer passed away at age 69 following an 18-month battle with cancer. Bowie leaves behind wife Iman and two children, Duncan (from his first marriage) and daughter Alexandria.
The London native’s death was confirmed via a statement posted to his social media accounts, saying: January 10 2016 – David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.
His son, Duncan, also confirmed the news via Twitter. “Very sorry and sad to say it’s true. I’ll be offline for a while. Love to all,” he wrote.
With such a devastating loss to the international music community, country stars took to social media to share their condolences for the star.
