Emerging artist Courtney Cole has partnered with CMT to be the new spokesperson for the network’s Empowering Education campaign.

The campaign encourages CMT viewers, no matter their age or circumstance, to pursue a secondary education.  As part of this year’s push, Cole will headline 10 events at community colleges to help raise awareness about the resources available for potential students interested in earning a college degree.

“I’m excited to partner with CMT on their Empowering Education initiative,” said Cole. “Music and education are a powerful combination. Having the opportunity to meet students and hear their stories is something I’m looking forward to!”

”We are thrilled to have Courtney join us as our CMT Empowering Education spokesperson because she’s seen first-hand the power of these events in small communities,” expressed Lucia Folk, CMT VP of Public Affairs. “Courtney provides a great example of how education can enhance your career options and we know with her help–we’ll continue to grow the impact of CMT Empowering Education.”

The first stop of Cole’s 10 city tour took place at Northeast State Community College in Blountville, TN. Dates for the nine other events will be announced soon.

Cole, who majored in commercial voice at Belmont University, scored her first publishing deal after appearing on CMT: The Next Superstar. She spent much of 2015 on tour with Miranda Lambert’s Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour. She is currently among CMT’s Next Women of Country 2016.
