Craig Campbell Brings Powerful Ballad to TODAY Show

Craig Campbell was up early this morning as he made his way to the TODAY Show to perform his latest hit, “Outskirts of Heaven.”

Before his performance of the moving song, Campbell spoke with hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford about his upcoming USO tour. “My very first USO tour,” Campbell announced. “We’re going to be in Melbourne, FL in August and then we’re going to fly to Washington state. I’m fired up about it.”

The singer then went on to perform the powerful ballad that he knew was something special from the moment he wrote it.

“When Dave Turnbull and I wrote it, it was one of those things where I had the idea, and I told him about it prior, and he said ‘Well, save it for me,’ then we got together and wrote it in about two hours. It was just one of those things where it just happened,” Campbell told Sounds Like Nashville. “When we got done with it, we both agreed that it was a special song. It was just one of those things where you don’t get the opportunity to be a part of a song like this very often. We’re definitely blessed.”
