Multi-Talented Star Craig Morgan Opens The Gallery at Morgan Farms
The farm-to-home business is 100% family owned-and-operated and offers organic items and products from reclaimed, repurposed, and recycled materials.
Craig Morgan needed an outlet to work through his insurmountable grief after his son Jerry passed away in 2016. So, in keeping with his creative nature, the singer began tinkering in his wood shop. After Morgan created and finished several projects, his daughter decided that more people needed to know about her father’s talents.
“My daughter then decided that she was going to put some of it on Facebook to try to sell it. I told her to go ahead. She did, and it sold – quick – and for a lot of money,” Morgan explains to Sounds Like Nashville. “So, we started doing more, to a point that I couldn’t keep up with what she was trying to do. One day, we were driving through downtown Dickson, and we saw that [a] building was for sale.”
The building, located about forty-five minutes west of Nashville, is home to The Gallery at Morgan Farms, a new creative outlet for the Morgan family. “I call it the Gallery because this is more art than craft,” he shares. “Every piece of wood, whether it be a four and a half foot centerpiece bowl or a spoon, if there are fifteen spoons there, each individual piece is different. No one piece is like the other. Whether it be the grain in the wood, they are all hand-carved, hand-sanded, and hand-rubbed. There are no two pieces that are the same. Sometimes, I’ll come up with one that I think looks horrible and has a funky curve to it, and I’ll finish them and think ‘This is sort of cool.’”
“We have everything from spoons to bowls to cutting boards to cheese trays, and every bit of it is made out of re-purposed or re-cycled wood,” he continues. “So, it’s pretty cool. I tell people when they come in that ‘We’re not selling a product. I’m selling a product with a story. With every piece of wood, my wife hand-writes a note that says where the wood came from – or what it was. For example, this breadboard, the piece of wood came from the tobacco barn that I took off of the property, dis-assembled, and made this with.”

The Gallery got its start from organic honey harvested from Morgan’s beehives. The honey and the singer’s bees are featured throughout the storefront as well as products made by other members of the Morgan family, like quilts hand-sewn by his wife. Soon, products handmade by some of Morgan’s friends and fellow musicians, like Zac Brown, Billy Dean, and Eric Paslay, will be available at the storefront as well.
The Gallery at Morgan Farms, located at 134 N Main St., Dickson, TN 37055, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
