Danielle Bradbery Set Sights on Sophomore Album, ‘I Don’t Believe We’ve Met’

"This album is kind of a reintroduction of myself. Compared to the first album, I didn’t know and I didn’t get to tell fans exactly who I was," Bradbery said of the forthcoming collection.

Danielle Bradbery is ready to introduce herself to the Country music scene—for a second time—with the release of her sophomore record.

Titled I Don’t Believe We’ve Met, Bradbery hopes to show her honest personality after letting five years pass since her time on The Voice. Developing her authentic sound and finding the voice she wanted to use, Bradbery wishes for the album to speak for itself.

“This album is kind of a reintroduction of myself. Compared to the first album, I didn’t know and I didn’t get to tell fans exactly who I was,” the country singer said in an interview with Billboard. “Now that I’m 21, there is a lot more to me than 16-year-old Danielle.”

With a 10-song tracklist, Bradbery puts her point across in a rather blunt nature that represents the growth she’s experienced as an artist and a young adult. From the chill vibes of “Sway” to the up-and-down relationship woes in “Messy,” the Voice alum gives a good look at who she’s become and she isn’t afraid to use other influences to get the message across to listeners.

“It’s not only just the stories and lyrics, but even the feel of the songs — the way that the beats are, and some of them are not too, too country. I was listening to so many different types of music growing up… my dad’s side of the family loves listening to country, and my mom’s side of the family loves to dance, listening to hip-hop, rap and Latin music, and so I literally was around a little bit of everything. I love to weave as much of that inspiration as I can. I want to share with everybody that I have different tastes too,” she admitted of the effort.

Bradbery sent out her debut self-titled album back in 2013, and came out with her single, “Friend Zone,” in 2015. Her sophomore album will mark the first time she’s given fans a taste of new music in over two years.

I Don’t Believe We’ve Met is set to release on December 1.
